The Soulane (purple)

A journey into observation, nature and wonder

The Soulane is a unique, new walking trail in the Nature Park at Ramat Hanadiv, which tries to help us answer the question: “What in nature does me good?” The stations, which are scattered around the park, allow us to discover a few possible answers to the question, while walking, and along the way also strengthen and nurture our mental resilience.

Station 1: Well-being – at this station we’ll let go of everything and we’ll enter the moderate pace of nature. Here you can practice breaths of exactly 16 seconds (4×4).

Station 2: Wonder – nature offers us moving, astonishing discoveries about the world that we are part of.

You can experience nature through your senses using the apparatuses around you. Make sure not to harm the plants and animals.

Station 3: Memories – studies show that we feel particularly good in an open landscape like the one around us. The reason is rooted deeply in our consciousness: ancient humans lived in Africa, and there, in the open savannah, they could detect danger from afar and defend themselves against it in time. Does the open landscape inspire peace in you too?

Station 4: Introspection – walking quietly in nature helps us refine our thoughts and reencounter the simplest and most natural version of ourselves.

We’ll walk together along the next 250 metres – but in silence, without saying a word. During this time, you can:

Look around. Hear distant sounds. Pay attention to thoughts that come and go. Feel your feet meet the ground.

Will you manage to reach the sign that marks the end of this segment in silence? Let’s see 😉

Station 5: Belonging and identity – just like the roots of trees and shrubs, that allow them to stand strong against the wind, storms and changing environmental conditions, we also need roots to support us, particularly during difficult times. In each block, choose what gives you your personal root system that supports you during hard times. Sit down to rest for a while and share your choices with each other: why did you choose these things exactly?

Station 6: Horizon – nature was here before us and will be here after us. It reminds us that we are part of an eternal web of life, and that there is hope, renewal and growth.

Station 7: Inspiration – nature is a source of inspiration for artists, poets and writers, and a space of introspection, quiet and peace. You’re welcome to take a few moments for yourselves, together or alone, enjoy the sitting corners scattered around this space and feel at home in nature, borrow a book from our forest library and return it when you’ve finished it.

Station 8: Play – nature is the biggest playing field in the world, and spending time in nature encourages creativity. To enjoy it you just need a little time and imagination. At this station you’ll find ideas for games you can play right here, right now, with what is around you.

Thank you for choosing to hike in the Nature Park at Ramat Hanadiv. We’ve put together a number of tips and guidelines for you so that your hiking experience will be safe and enjoyable: Hiking Correctly
