THE CRICKET AND THE ANT

** Due to technical issues – the show is canceled! **

Imagine wide open spaces, green lawns, a breeze from the sea, and…performances for children!

Don’t miss the fun this July!

Bring the kids to some open-air entertainment as the sun goes down.

On Wednesdays evenings throughout July, at 6:30 p.m., the shows for children will begin, featuring various theater groups in Ramat Hanadiv’s Amphitheatre.

ABOUT THE SHOW: THE CRICKET AND THE ANT

Nelly the Ant is hard-working and frugal; as she does every year, she stashes away food and prepares for the coming winter, and dreams about someday winning “The Most Beautiful Garden” contest.

One day, a lazy, cheerful cricket named Kfitz (Jumper) comes to live next door to her. The two find it hard to get along ﹘ especially after the cricket trashes and destroys Nelly’s pretty garden.

Despite their differences, the two very slowly weave a lovely friendship, and they learn to enjoy each other. But just when it seems that everything is fine, Nelly discovers that Kfitz has wasted all the food that she’s been saving throughout the year.

Will Kfitz manage to survive the winter?  And what will Nelly’s life be like without funny Kfitz? Will they be able to reconcile and go back to being good neighbors?

The end is suspenseful and surprising, and its message is clear: It’s good to prepare, to save and recycle, but it’s no less important to be happy and able to enjoy life.
