Coming Soon: A Designated Bike Path through Ramat Hanadiv's Nature Park

Coming Soon: A Designated Bike Path through Ramat Hanadiv's Nature Park

•    Plan for new bike path unveiled at meeting last week with the participation of the local bike-riding community
•    Trail development expected to begin in July 2016

Representatives of Ramat Hanadiv met last Friday to present local bikers with revised plans for the new bike path through the Nature Park. The first such meeting was held last November, at the initiative of Ramat Hanadiv's professional staff, in order to discuss the riders' needs, to hear their opinions, and to involve them in the planning stages of the path so that it will meet both cyclists' needs and the conservation requirements of the park. The new plan for the bike trail integrated many of the suggestions raised in the first meeting.
Approximately 20 leading bikers from the area attended the meeting, among them Hugo Jan Trago, managing director of Ramat Hanadiv; Albert Kaminer, Nature Park manager; and the planner, Kemi Zerihan-Heller, who is also a skilled cyclist. Kaminer welcomed the productive participation of all the riders and thanked them for supporting the plan and preserving the character of the Nature Park .
The planned route, expected to become part of a regional system of bike trails, will traverse all  points of interest in the Nature Park, such as Horvat 'Aqav and the Vultures Trail. It will also have an appropriate, safe exit to Route 4.
The bike path will feature two lanes:  one for skilled cyclists, and one suitable for all levels. Its grand opening is expected to take place just before the autumn holidays.
