“Landscape, Land” A photography exhibition with soul

photo from the exhibition

The Visitor Center, Ramat Hanadiv

You know that feeling when you’re in nature and amazed by the views but the photos don’t manage to convey the excitement you feel? Sometimes, precisely when we try to present the photographed object exactly as it is, we indeed achieve a sterile, esthetic result, but on the way we lose the experience, the personal impression, the soul that was there.

The exhibition Landscape, Land, currently on display in the Visitor Center at Ramat Hanadiv, undermines traditional photography values, does away with sterility and conveys experience. The photographs convey the unique perspective on nature and landscape of the photographer Yoram Buzaglo. His photographs echo the spirit of the impressionist paintings of Monet and Manet, but unlike them, the photographs range from impression to abstraction and from daily reality to existential, spiritual nature.

Through Buzaglo’s lens, the landscape and nature that are usually photographed with precision are reflected in the photographs beyond the focal point. This creates esthetic distance of the photographed reality. The end result arouses feelings of yearning and nostalgia for past landscapes: an old shed and faded prickly pear cacti, as symbols of reality, melt into the space of forgetfulness. Buzaglo’s creation, therefore, does not try to mimic external reality but to redesign it as an internal essence of observation.

So when you come to Ramat Hanadiv during the vacation, take some time out from the sun and visit the magical exhibition in the Visitor Center.
